Television asks a lot of an outfit. It has to hold its shape under studio lights, read clearly on camera, and still look like something you'd actually want to wear. These are the pieces we made for Shilpa across a year of shoots — mustard and cream for the daytime slots, deep green and gold when the occasion called for it, and a Kerala kasavu with a red waistcoat that she wore for Onam. Every one was cut to her measurements in our Adimali unit.

A pearl-worked lehenga in ivory, with chikankari across the skirt and a dupatta light enough to catch the wind — worn through the nikah, the reception, and a long afternoon of photographs under the coconut palms. The fitting took three sittings. That is usually what a bridal piece needs: the first for the shape, the second for the fall, and the last one close enough to the day that nothing has shifted.

Sometimes a single colour is the whole idea. A ruched red gown, cut long and simple, photographed in the open grass as the light went soft. No embroidery, no border, nothing to distract from the drape — proof that a piece doesn't need weight to feel like an occasion.

Banarasi in mustard and red, a crushed tissue skirt, and a green silk set with scalloped gold at the neck and hem — made for family functions, temple visits and the festive weeks when everyone dresses up at once. Cut with room to grow and to move in, because that is what these are actually for.
